I got these two trees from a local bonsai nursery

      Into the soil

So I planted the trees today. I know nothing about bonsai but I'm passing by this nursery in fountain valley on warner avenue and though might take a looks. They also have a lot black pines. I saw a few going for 5k-9k about 6-8 feet tall. Any hobby is costly for sure

      More bonsai

I think I'm addicted to "Japanese black pine"
So I came back with my "wife" to the nursery and got two more and this time she paid for them.
I placed them next to my pond
Doesn't look to bad! Life is great

Can you tell what are the black cups on the tree for?
