I am excited about this tosai from egg to 15 inches in 8 months. hope to use as breeder breeding back to shusui. was yellow when smaller I was more excited before it turned orange.
I will be keeping this one I am very fond of it. I will breed back to shusui someday. I would like to have show quality koi but a real pain in the *** and not too likely on my budget. Koi like this are more fun for me. I will go for fast large growth with metallic colors and ginrin dorsal scales. I was more excited when this tosai was younger it was a very nice ki but got more orange as it got older. I found it very interesting that doitsu is not recessive.

Pretty nice for a flock spawn !
22 inches 15 months old
mother of three inch fry already
wow
I was wrong about age more like 17 months old
found out this koi is called Doitsu Kujaku
The amazing growth continues! And heavy as well. I thought a couple of tobi out of my 2015 spawn were doing good to be 18", but this one dwarfs them. Looks like it may blow right past 30" in a couple of years.
It definitely has ginrin on the scales. So I was initially thinking it was a ginrin shusui. But if the skin is metallic, it would be a ginrin doitsu kujaku instead. It is a little hard to tell from the overhead pictures, but the earlier pictures from when it was 15" on its side do appear to show some shine, especially on the head.
Very handsome mutt!
