As to a varietal classification it would be a "Kawarigoi" which basically translate to "all others" as it doesn't really fall into a specific varietal classification. It is a genetic "throw back" that most breeders would have culled at a month old. You can find this type of koi at a local pet shop or Pet Smart type retailer, but not usually at a koi dealers shop.

Really not what I wanted to hear. He is more beautiful now. That was a year ago. Some colors sparkle in the sunlight. I still love it!
