      Question

      What kind of wrench can you tighten unions with. Strap wrench when wet impossible.thanks.

      it's still dark here and I don't have lighting in the shed. Once it's light enough, I'll go out and take a pic of the one we have here. It was a gift to me when I started in the hobby years ago. It's very useful for unions and bulkheads.
      I don't know the name of the type of wrench it is, did a quick google search and couldn't find it.

      That is a cool tool that Marilyn posted. They also make large curved jaws pliers that work. I simply use a large pipe wrench when my strap doesn't fit well or slips. But beware that most failures on threaded plastic pipe occur from over-tightening. Most of the time a good hand-tighten on those plastic unions are enough and the wrench is only needed to loosen them.
