      New Goldfish tank

      Hello all!

I recently started up a fancy goldfish tank to amuse me on rainy days and through winter while my pond is frozen over. Thought you would all enjoy some pics!

I bought these girls from River Garden Nursery (shine5555) at the ZNA show in Va. Must give him a shout out here as I enjoyed chatting with him and was very pleased overall. They are my first fancy indoor fish, and I am really happy with them. I am fascinated with the Oranda. Very hard to get a good picture because she does not stop dancing. And I've always been a little uncertain about pearlscales (and bubble eyes for that matter) but I couldn't pass these golfballs up. They are so funny. Swim, glide, bounch. Swim, glide, bounce.

This Ryukin is from a LFS. I really like him a lot, but he has been like a shark in QT and since I am pretty certain of his maleness, I am a little worried about sticking him in the tank with the others (who I am also pretty sure are all ladies). Pictures are a little hazy as he is quarantining in a sterilte tub in my kitchen. He's still a little veiny, but I'm feeling like that might just be him rather than stress/infection. But to be sure he is going to stick around in the QT a little longer anyway.

Well, the ryukin went back to the LFS unfortunately because it just wasn't working out... I probably would have kept him and put him in my pond but it was just too cold outside to do that and keeping him in a separate tank until spring wasn't an option either.

So, I got some juvenile pearlscales and a bubble eye in his place as trade in. I'm not sure what I was thinking. Here is the bubble eye. I've named him Quasi because he has a dorsal spike and is generally funky looking. I really like him though. I've had the misfortune of popping his bubble sacs (one twice!) but he healed so nicely. I was quite surprised. The juvenile pearlscales are meh, okay. I don't have any good pictures of them yet.
