Like I said I have a couple of butterflies that look like that. It's not worth it to pull them from the pond to take a photo... This one was just an easy shot and I thought it may be of interest. I guess you will just have to take my word for it until the time that I need to pull them and can take a photo easily.

Andrea, while that wagoi koi of yours does have a single split barbel, it really looks nothing like the butterfly in the original post. Not quite the same "rarity" factor to it IMHO.
Dude, get off your 'I know everything attitude' and freaking google it. I just did and found plenty of "butterfly koi with branched barbels". Not rare at all Mike. You've clearly lost the ability to accept new information.

Thank you Nancy for taking the time to find another example. As I said in my last post, I'm not that interested in butterfly koi, but have seen enough over the course of many years to say I haven't ever seen another like it. Glad you found another as it is quite an interesting look.

Wow! This thread is over 1 1/2yrs old. Time to stop whipping the dead horse?!? Yeah those are great barbels I guess if you like butterfly koi. Many do but they just aren't my cup of tea.

Uh... I wasn't whipping the dead horse? I happen to be by the pond and got a good picture of them and remember this thread and that you said you would wait for a picture. Sorry to annoy you.
