      A Pleasant Surprise :)

I have a 100 gal and a 35 gal tub with lilies, water lettuce, and azolla. I went out to pull some leaves and look
at the plants. I saw something orange swim by..then something white Two little goldfish babies! I had removed
some plants from my 300 gal goldfish tub and I'm guessing they had eggs. I'm surprised the frogs didn't eat them
because they stay in those other tubs. So, I have to take my grandson for his senior pictures this a.m downtown,
and when I come home I'll make the 100 gal tub their new home. Funny how excited two little babies make me feel
But, I know you "Koiphen" people understand.

Okay, my GS helped me empty the 35 gal tub. 3 Frogs and 3 baby goldfish. One is so small I hope it makes it. I decided to
just put them back with their "parents"

I have other babies in the 300 gal tank. Two of these are about the size of the ones in there, but I'm not sure if the little one will be okay.
But, it is better than him cooking in that little tub with almost 100 degree temps all week or having the frogs get him. He has places to hide
and they are pretty good at surviving. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed he makes it along with the others.

It is exciting when I find babies in my lotus tubs. What type of 300 gal. tub do you have?

Rubbermaid partially buried in the ground with rocks around it. Right now I have "overkill" in it...3 small airstones, pondmaster filter, and Tetra
UV/pump. My hyacinths and water lettuce weren't doing so well because it was too clean

      2 out of 3 :(

Two are doing well, but I do believe the tiny one has been eaten. I did a water change this a.m and cleaned the filter and didn't see him anywhere

I am attaching a pic of when we took them out of the 35 gal tub. It isn't the greatest but you will see the variation in size.

      Momma's & Poppa's (siblings)

Here are a couple more pic's from my phone of the Mom's & Dad's. Also, some of the
siblings. Much larger than the 3 who were in the little tub. I have a tarp strung above
them, so sorry if it looks like they are covered

Kinda makes me wonder if taking out my fry from the pond is really worth.. There were a couple in there that was growing well but it makes me sick having them live in the settling chamber with all the yucky stuff...Although there were lots of tiny insects the fry could prey on.... Now that i think about it its kinda funny. Initially the 1mm sized fry were being hunted, now they've became the hunters. sorta like the saying " Until the lambs become lions. "
