      Bottom Drain Is Clogged.HELP!

Just got back from a weekend trip to find that my bottom drain is only putting out a miniscule amount of water. (pump was sucking air for who knows how long) It is quite a distance between my pond and the settling tank, any advice on how to unclog this beast? In the pond there is a diffuser that covers the bottom drain itself so I am assuming that I will have to come in from the other direction. I have used these pulsing type things that you shove down the drain when the shower is running slow, do they make something such as this for a 4 inch pipe?
      Thanks,
      Tim

See post #2; if you click on the words "drain bladder" it pops up to show what it looks like at home depot. I just remembered it was something Rick recommended when his bottom drain lines clog. Not sure if something like that will work for you.

I put a cover over my 4 inch gravity flow pipes and put an air chuck into it. As the air build up in the pipe it will push everything that is in the pipe back into the pond and unclog it/

I've seen a lot of ponders swear by this linteater and the available attachments.

Thanks Gander....I did use the drain blocker after climbing into the polytank with no luck. So....on a whim I dove into the pond (6.5 ft deep) and started sticking my fingers around the dome.....I felt this think that felt like a twig....started pulling on it, then pulling harder. Holy schmoley....it was an aquarium fish net that was stuck in the bottom drain and it was just full of....yuck. So....one of the grandkids is going to have a conversation with gramps now! Luckily it was that simple of a fix.

Glad to hear it's un blocked. Reminds me of the time I found a student's sucker stick in the outlet hose of my washing machine. Students leave their trash all over the room, I pick it up, stick it in a pocket . . . . . . . Duh.

I still think of Family Circus when I hear a line like that.
