      Ochiba- 2
      Odd balls- 4

The odd balls make up three that are too small to tell if they are going to be ochiba or Chagoi. The 4th is yellowish with the brown tancho mark and scales that look like they are turning darker on the back. I will just have to wait and see on those. I am hoping the soragoi grow out well too as their coloring has peaked my interest. Its a silver that is so bright its almost white. I figure as long as it isn't a skittish bleeder like their dad then its already a step in the right direction.
      Hi Jim
you got some nice ones and no bad back to culling !nature will do a good job on it's own !,
Well this tells you what's in your line so very interesting breeders add KI GOI and Akemi Ki goi to get fish as big as they can and to add size in a line ,a good example is Konishi he breeds jumbo Chagoi from crossing Chagoi to Ki Goi ,and these reach amazing sizes ,Saffron Chagoi are bred by many breeders ! ,did you have any red eyed yellow fry ! .

I can tell you the parent line for both of my parents in the spawn came from Sundan Koi Farm here in FL. The two came from the breeding of a Hosaki Female Ochiba, a Hosaki Male Ochiba, and a Shinoda Doitsu Soragoi.

The aquarium couldn't handle all of them and the goldfish. They went into the pond for the final round of survival of the fittest. So far I have only seen three again, one of them because I keep fishing him out of the Zakki. the three I see are an Ochiba (mostly silver with dark brown markings), a Tancho Ochiba (silver with brown tancho mark), and one that looks like its a two tone Chagoi (Yellowish brown on the top half, darker brown on the lower half).

This Ochiba was hanging out in my sieve for a bit today. He ends up in there a few times a week.

Nice one. You can see the dark edges on the scales.

I think that goes back to the parents. One of the things I liked about Dan's Koi was the scalation on them. Hopefully it passes off to this one as well. Pattern wise I expect to see a lot of change. The brown at the dorsal was not there the other week. The marking on the head is lightening up. This one will be held on to for awhile and we will see what happens.

I can see him losing his color when he gets bigger since he doesn't have much to start with. Will be a nice soragoi at least.

It's been awhile, but the three survivors have been growing. I was able to catch this one on camera today. Prior guesses were Matsuba and Hi Asagi. It's changed a lot over the last three months and is already up to 6 inches give or take. I think this one has potential size wise.

This thread will no longer be updated. The three survivors and their fates can be followed on my main thread.

The story of my first spawn has finally ended. After 3 years and 10 months from the spawning, the final Koi has left the pond. Finishing up at 22.5 inches he found a new home yesterday.

That's a good one Jim, and nice size for a four year old male. Thanks for posting the photos.

He was still growing, slowly of course. If he finished at 2ft, I would have been happy with a final result. In a larger pond and time though I think he could have been larger. The reality is he avoided me, blended into the pond a lot, and sparked no joy. As Marie Kondo would say, it was time to thank it and let it go.
