moving k1 tank out of rubber liner

can i make a moving kaldness tank out of 45 mil rubber liner or will the rubber rub through.
      any input or ideas.
should the bottom be flat or sloped at the bottom.
the reason for the rubber is size and shape.
      the size is 1500 gallons.
and the shape would be round with a small part of the side flattened.
also of a diaphragm pump or gast blower ,witch one is more efficient .
with that being said how deep should it be.

most of the k1 tanks i have built where 40-48 inches deep and round and worked good.
this one is on the larger scale and was wanting some input.

I'm going to move your thread to Pond Construction & Filtration, as I think it'll get more exposure there...

The rubber liner won't rub through but you'll end up with a lot of folds in a round container which
you might end up having to dig the media out of constantly.
How big is the pond the mb will serve? How do you plan to keep all that media in motion?

      90,000 gallons .
a 1/2 hp gast blower or maybe 4 pc pond master 100s
that is also my dilemma because if i use a blow the tank has to be larger in diameter and shallower .
so can i use less air in a deeper tank if i use a diaphragm pump.
i was going to use seem tape on the folds.

Tsippel, Have you considered using something to stir the media , water jets, or a paddle hoz mounted prop and use air, blower or air jets well placed Together this combination might be cheaper to operate.

No not really, It just strikes me that moving, mixing media in a very large vat would have to be done differently. is all. During my navy days, spending time in a galley I was fascinated with the big ovens mixing bowl's everything was super-sized. Like my moms kitchen but on a much larger scale did the same thing mom did. Sorry I ramble.

Yes you can make a moving kaldness tank out of 45 mil rubber liner, my liner filter 15ft long and contains 1100 US gallons this tank is not full of k1, 1/3 is k1 and the other 2/3 are matts
The bottom should be slopped because the debris will go into the bottom drains, I have plexi glass with small holes suspended above the drains so when I flush the drain the k1 wont escape, my filter has been working for years with no problems.
for my filer I use the diaphragm pump, since my filter is smaller than 1500gallons, my pond and filtration is 7300gallons in total. If your filter is 1500 gallons you should use 3 or 4 diaphragm pumps, or air blower because youll need lots of air for that big of filter

Picture I posted is of one part of my filter, which usually contains the k1 media
