I spoke to Zac the other day with the same question and he said before the shower really does need to be quite filtered, so i do think you will need MC50s per Zac.

Will MC50 work for floating particles or the skimmer circuit ? I thought it only works with heavy particles based on the vortex design.

BTW: I got three brand new MC-50 sitting in my garage if anyone wants to buy it.

That's kind of what we thought, since the only thing going through the skimmer would be floating we didn't know what the MC50 would do.

      Thanks for your thoughts

No Tom, actually, the MC50 is designed for removing finer particulates, even down to 30-40 microns, so yes, it should work okay for a skimmer circuit. Personally, I prefer using an Ultima pressure filter for a skimmer circuit. Contrary to what some say, I find it works really well on removing all size particulates once it becomes "seasoned".

My "preferred" rate would be about 1500 gph.

Thanks Norm, we are starting to get a better understanding now. Do you have an opinion about putting a shower after the sieve with no other prefilter from the skimmers ?

      Thanks again,

Coming from the skimmers, yes, I would suggest additional fines control like the MC50.

Thanks again Norm. It's seems clear we need more prefilter other than the sieve.

You recommend 1500 GPH per CF. what are the consequences of having to much flow such as our 10 GPH in 4 CF ?
