Beautiful, Kat! And your rain lilies are mesmerising!

Do you have to deal much with insect pests, Kat? Your pads look immaculate. I enjoy watching a number of insects roll through the pond depending on the time of year, many munching on lily pads, but few making any dent worth worrying about (though I certainly have size on my side). All your happy flowers in your heat remind me of pictures from South Africa after a rain. It all looks wonderful.
Thanks. Tropic Sunset might boot Albert Greenberg out of my collection if it keeps performing this well next year, too.
The usual caterpillars & China Mark moth but I treat only as needed. Sometimes I'll let the caterpillars alone as long as there is plenty of pads left to keep the plant healthy. Sometimes aphids in the spring/fall. I should pick old pads off more often though.
Wonderful stuff Kat!
wow, look at all of those colors! must be great to view all of that right out of your window.
Beautiful Kat!
Do you leave your tropicals out all winter?
I have to put mine in the greenhouse and by the
time spring arrives I'm wondering if they are dead.
the first year I pulled them in I kept them well watered
and thinking they would just think it's staying warm.
Last year I just kept them muddy and allowed the leaves
to die off. They looked terrible when I set them out this
spring but now they are going nuts, growing and blooming.
BTW, the Rain Lilies are great too.
