Took the shot of the rose bed in the rain. The storm came in fast so things are rather messy right now, but you can see the growth in the bed. The radishes are now ready for harvest. They are the plants in front of the roses. The strawberries in the pot are putting on size, as is the fuzzy blue tomato. I've got edibles in all the pots in the foreground but am too lazy to list them.

This bed no longer looks like this because literally five minutes after I finished the mulch and took the picture, the storm came in and blew 213984792837 maple propellars into the bed. I hate those things! This bed is now 90% planted. The tomatoes in the containers are putting on size, the peppers in the wall o waters are not. There are lemon cucumbers, lime zucchini and I think a melon or two in this bed along with a bunch of herbs, cauliflower, broccoli and leaks. Cukes, zucchini and melon all look the same to me as babies and unfortunately my kids, the planting assistants this weekend forgot to label what they put in. Ah well. It will be fun surprise!

Edit to add: The fuzzy white thing on the left? A ginormous rhubarb bloom. Its 5 feet tall-and not particularly attractive. I should chop that thing down.

Finally here is a view from our balcony, so you can see where the pond is with respect to the trees and also appreciated the 29387298374 maple propellars everywhere. heh

Fall is imminent, so a few quick shots before I start ripping it all out for soup!

There is actually a surprising amount of edibles that are doing really well behind the falls, in that heavy shade. Celery, cilician parsley, fennels, chard and radishes have all been pulled out of there. Not as heavy of a crop as with sun, but still worthwhile!
