      2014 spring redo

      Hi im redoing one of my ponds and am going to be sharing that for the next few weeks. It is going from about 500 gallons to roughly 2-3000 gallons.

      were now down to 6.5 ft and about 6 ft diameter. im starting to plan for the filter pit.

      I am using the 8x8x16" cinderblocks for my pond for full length walls. Are you just building a collar? For my filter pit I am using the 6x8x16" blocks. Great progress so far!

      The 8x8x16" blocks are easier to fit together for walls, but the thinner blocks saves you a little more space, that is why I am using them in my filter pit, I need all the space I can get. Because they are thinner, the corners don't line up correctly, here is a quick diagram. Name:  image.jpg

      In the side view you can see how they are staggered, in the top view I show the white blocks off to the side of the base blocks so you have to picture them on top of the grey blocks, but you can see that in the corners the blocks will overhang a bit, which isn't that big of a deal if they won't be seen on the outside, or you can cut them down.

      so ive been hearing how great the helix skimmer is...so I got one for myself! if all is good, water should be flowing by next sunday. koi toilet also came!
