      I've got robins!
      many, many, many of them!
Weather forecast is in the 30s and 40s, but is going down into the 20s and teens again in a few days. Are these birds jumping the season or just taking advantage of a bit of a warm break? Not going to make babies yet, are they?
If I'm in the wrong place to ask this non-koi q, please move this.

Yes, I have a small herd of robins that are here. However it is normal at this time.

They work the yard in a pack all spaced out and almost hoping together, from one end to the other, then across the street.

See, and your temps right now are 20 degrees warmer than mine.
it's possible we always have robins in january up here, but since i'm not usually pinned to the danged sofa, i may not have noticed them heretofore. I sent a friend out to the ponds to see if she could see any fish -- she couldn't see a one. i think that's got to be a good thing.

Then they might be on their way here. We usually see them this time of year. As soon as I have a few more warm days, I have to get out and house clean the Purple Martin's houses. I usually do that in July when they leave, but I didn't this year and it now has to be done before they arrive in a couple of weeks. As I remember I did the same thing last year and only had them cleaned out 1 week before they arrived. Really intended to do them sooner this year....Oh, well!! And what is a Corcus?? And are they supposed to bloom now?

We always seem to have some robins overwintering in nj. Usually notice them mobbing crab apple trees when other food starts getting scarce. Don't expect the big flocks in the grass for awhile yet. Like rain I have some bluebirds sticking around this year:thumbup:
