Mystic Koi and Genki both have it in stock. I love it, fish are doing great and waste is at a minimum. I can' t say the same for other brands that I've tried.

Wondering once they reach their potential (don't know how you'll know), can you cut back on food?
It's not like they are going to shrink or will they?

what seems to be the difference between the jpd and saki hikari? i had a sample of jpd from genki. he did not have I'm stock at the time. Kevin at genki said both have probiotics and both are very good but was hoping the jpd would be cheaper. not sure if it is or not
JPD is a little cheaper. Both produce minimal amount of waste compared to some other brands. To me it seems I feed less food and get much better growth etc. when using ether JPD or Saki Hikari so using less food and better results to me off sets the higher $$$. My old school filters require much less labor with less fish waste.
The other trick is to switch to sinking food. There is a different method of extruding to food from the machinery and no air is added to the sinking food. The pellets weigh more and the makers recommend only feeding about half of what you feed with a floating pellet. I have been using the JPD sinking food for the past 3 years and love it. So do the fish once they get used to it, which doesn't take more than a few feedings. I agree, body mass changes for the better and I believe, due to the lesser amount of waste, the water stays better and this benefits the fish.
I don't understand all the complaining about the cost of food for fish when people spend countless amounts to pamper their rescue dogs/cats. They're all "pets" and you should treat them the same whether they live in your home or in your garden.

Either of those foods works really well. I didn't have the availability of the Saki brand of sinking when I started this regimen but even now, the cost is quite a bit different and I would stick with the JPD food anyway. I prefer the medium size pellet as well as the food being denser causes the fish to have to work harder to crush the pellets to assimilate it. If you're going to continue to feed it through the winter, I would suggest wetting it first to soften it up some.

yep russ told me to wet the pellets in cooler temps. still good reminder as I often forget things lol.
i was alternating between floating and sinking S aki as it confused them and made them search for the food. i also feel they stay little more friendly off floating food. just my .02.

Oops! I apologize. I confused the JPD food with the FD. That is what I've been using. Sorry for the confusion. I agree it's really good stuff and the price was a bit more than half the cost of Saki. Something in the ingredients the FDA took exception to and it might also have had something to do with the distribution pipeline from what I understand.
