Question flashing and irritated looking skin

One of my feesh has recently begun flashing and rubbing her side against the coping. Now she has some irritated looking skin that is a bit red. It does not look like the start of an ulcur from my limited experience. The plan of attack is to teat the whole pond with Proform C and pull her and give her a tricide neo spray. (i do not have the ability to scope)

      QUESTIONS:
1- is this a suitable plan of attack?
      2-will the proform C damage my filters/plants/frogs?
3- If I am making a tricide neo spray, should it be more concentrated than a dip? one packette to one gallon.

      Here are the specs-
      Amonia)0 -.025
      Nitite) 0
      Nitrate) 0
      PH: 7.8 -8
      KH) 80

      3K GAL,
      One tosai, 2 nisai
      water turnover is 1-1.5/hour
old school filter matting and lava rock filters, maintained weekly along with 50% water changes.
      I also have a UV.

The directions for preform c says you do not need to by pass your filter. If you follow the dose instructions and the fish still flashes visually check for fish lice. If there are no fish lice, treat for fluke with prazi pro. I use a product similar to preform c together with prazi pro in a quarantine tank when I bring new fish home.
Flashing and jumping are signs of fluke. Usually if a fish has a bad case of fluke it will also have secondary infections from to much scratching.

Any possibility the rubbing is spawning activity? I would not treat the pond if you don't know why or what you are treating.
Your Ammo should be zero. Even though it's not much, maybe that is the problem?

As for the Tricide, I usually mix it at the label strength - in distilled water. If the redness does not clear up with the water changes, then I would prefer a dip...IF you want to use the Tricide. Save some of the clean solution in a spray bottle and put it in the fridge. It will last for about 6 months. If you go ahead and treat with the Tricide, then save the used, strain thru a coffee filter into the gallon jug from the distilled water. Keep it cool and you can reuse EOD for a week.

That said, I wouldn't treat unless the redness doesn't improve or you see the start of ulcers. Clean water is the best treatment right now.

it is the tosai so it probably isnt from spawning and i dont want it to turn into an ulcer. if i couple prazi with the proform will i need to bypass the filter....? and what about the plants and frogs?

I don't think you have to worry about the filters, frogs or plants.

ProFormC - twice according to label and then add the Prazi with the last ProFormC treatment is a "shotgun" treatment for most parasites. However, you don't know that you have any. That protocol is NOT a preventative for ulcers. It's rather unusual for just one to be having a bout with parasites. If you feel you must treat something, then pull the one fish into a QT and treat the red areas with iodine or a dip in Tricide Neo. That is, if the "red" is a scrape.

PS: The shotgun will not get the red out...and just might further irritate the problem.

Is this flashing fish a new addition to the pond?
