Not too much longer before they go out to new homes. They seem to be doubling in seize every week.

They're the most fun to watch when they are the size of your fingernails.

Keep them long enough to see what they will look like. You need a goldfish pond.

True. I wish I had something inside for them, but I don't have room in this house for tanks. If only we could have basements here, then I would have a fish room to grow a lot of them out.

The last 24 hours was a Hunger Games marathon at my house. 52 young goldfish went into the tank with my other goldfish, all survivors after 24 hours were moved back to the garage. I figure rather than culling I would let natural selection do its job. I learned that surprisingly none were stuck to the filter intakes. Three damaged beyond return on a circulating pump. The Ranchu were cool though as they sometimes would get one on accident and spit it out. A couple fancies were jerks. The Ryukin though is a skilled hunter. She would occasionally do a lap and dart to the surface to take one out. I will have to stick to soft foods and lower amounts the next few days as she continues to crap spines.

It was effective as I knew I needed to cut my numbers in half and my count was down to 25.

We are right around the 1 month mark here. Starting to see white on the stomachs and the survivors continue to grow.

Yup. They need some color and size fast though as I am heading out on vacation soon and they need to be able to hold their own in the fish tank and not fit in the mouths of the bigger ones.

Of all the fish, I'd put my money on the sparkly Ochiba from Genki lasting over 2 years in your pond.
Its been less than three months and you may have lost this bet, lol. This ochiba is a small patch away from being a GR Soragoi. This may get rehomed soon. If I can get rid of the larger Soragoi that stopped growing, I may keep it only because it looks female.
