      Showa Grow out- Jimfish98

Almost everyone is still waiting for their koi. Myself (and hopefully a few others) will be picking up our koi from Frank at the Orlando Koi Show on Friday. Bill from Purdin will be delivering them to Frank that day. Everyone else should have theirs shipped shortly after.

I selected two Showa for the grow out. The first pick was more so due to face pattern. I felt it had a Yin/Yang look on the face that drew me in. I think it balances the amount of each color well without anything appearing too dominant. This will probably end up the better of the two. The second I chose mainly due to prefering a more black showa as well. Pattern again was interesting to me, hard to describe why though.

Better pics should give more info on possible gender and such, so until Friday....

Oddly enough, only 4 people including myself put in their list. It was 19th option for Montwilla, 8th on the list for Chag, 3rd on Inazuma28, and 2nd on mine. I think it was too finished on the Sumi for a lot of people.

Can't wait to start seeing actual pictures members have taken of their grow outs when they arrive. Hard to see much from the group shots. I still want to see who got kohaku 13. It got picked in the early stages of picking and I got to see it in person. It was one of my first picks but long gone out of the picking by the time I got my choice. jim you got two good choices, One with a decent amount of shiro and one that is heavy sumi and beni. Both are typical Purdin examples. Hope everyone get to enjoy theirs soon. Mine is still skittish but doing great, when I can see it. The QT pond is kind of green right now, but they come up where I can get a good view during feeding, I just have to sit very low and still. They aren't used to being hand fed at all. Hopefully once they join the rest of the group they will calm down and get a little tamer.

They are fish #27 and #41. They were not available when I put my list in. #41 surely would have been on my list. That should turn out to be a very nice fish. Can't wait to see the pics as it grows.

I'm so upset...my wife will be down in Orlando on the 12th...she'll just miss the show! She, of course, this doesn't bother. I on the other hand would have loved to have her pick up some fish for me!!!! Oh well.

Finally picked mine up from Frank. Purdin had them bagged together sitting in the Tampa Bay Koi tanks so I had to be patient.

First up is #41 with some video of both.

Embeding isn't working right now, so the link will have to do.
