The marginal or bog lilies are starting to poke their heads up out of the water. Winter will soon (hopefully ) be a thing of the past. Here is an arrowhead, a bog lily and a spider lily pic. Sorry that some of the Dipel dust is still on some of the plants.

Another thing going on in the gh are the rabbits. Because the babies I kept are maturing, the males were starting to fight some, so I built dividers and they now have their individual pens. Totes with holes cut into the ends are being used as nesting boxes or hiding places. They also make the place more colorful.I have the totes for the males to have for hiding, but have not cutout the holes so they are not in there yet. I will leave the tops off of the bucks' totes so they can't get on top of them and jump over into the does' cages.

The bunnies are so cute. Looks like one has turned his tote over.

SouthernStarr, I did not realize until recently that they fought either. I forgot who told me, but I checked it out on the web, and they do. I know I put two males together and within two seconds they were going around in circles squelling and trying to bite each other. Fot them seperated fast. I won't make that mistake again.
I had three does old enough to breed for Easter bunnies, but only one has babies. The second one lost hers, and the third one evidently did not take. Oh well, I did not need too many babies to try to sell anyway. Rabbits eat a lot!
Gray Cat, they turn the totes often. I am going to put a flat stone in each one to try to stop it. They hop up on them and around them, both of which can turn the totes onto their sides. No problem. They can still go in them, and I will straighten them up when I go back out there.

That is a great idea. We water gardeners have plenty of rocks for sure!

Good thing I am not close enough to visit your bunnies. I know I would come home with one for my GD.

You could also use gutter nails to hold them down. Just drill a hole in the bottom of the tubs, and use the nails like spikes. If they want to pull through you could use canning lids for washers(there cheap), this way there is no chance of a rock falling on a bunny!

Good idea, FIT BMX, but the floors are the dirt. I thought about nailing a piece of plywood onto the bottom, but the wood absorbs water, etc. A large flat piece of stone could not be turned over, but it would be somewhat in the way. Since the does did not get pregnant, (maybe too young) I don't have to decide which way to go for a while. Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't want to bore you, but some days the work in the gh is boring!
I've been busy so I have not posted on this thread in a few days. The last two days have been beautiful, with the temps in the 70s and the sun shining so I had a chance to get some things done. I removed the plastic sheeting from over the ponds in the gh as I think the roof will hold for the rest of the cold weather. It was 100* in the gh, so the fans are back on. I had to fold the plastic sheeting outside as there is not enough room in the gh and that was a task as the wind was gusting pretty good. The plants in the covered ponds looked pretty good, and many had sprouted. Most of what was under there is tropical lily corms in pots. Some of the bigger plants should bloom before much longer I hope. I had to get lots of azolla and duckweed off of three of the kiddie pool ponds. They were covered, but the lilies under them were okay.

While checking out the plants I found a small plant from last year with two leaves sprouting vivip babies. It is Peach Blow, and the growing babies can be seen in the pic. Sorry the pic is not real clear.

I also peeked at one of the tubs under the plastic outside covering the lotuses and it was looking good. In fact, I may go ahead and divide it next week-end. It is the lotus Sene Kouren. I posted a pic of it on the lotus thread a few days ago.

I brought in a few small Mayla divisions to leave in the gh to help stimulate them to grow faster. Fertilizing should help as well.

Okay, today was a little cool, but 24* tonight is ridiculous! Where is that overgrown squirrel that lied about an early spring? Be on the lookout for this guy, an imposter. Of course, like most weathermen, he is only right 39% of the time! Now I have to go buy some more kerosene for tonight! But spring is coming! Maybe the warm weather will come also. Seems they are on a different time table.

Okay, I have complained about the weather. Now, more impotant things!
I was hoping to have some baby rabbits for Easter, and the babies are coming out of the nest. We have seen 4 so far. The picture is on one of the babies with the mama. The others ran and hid when I went to take their picture. Maybe I can get a better pic in a few days. (Don't look Gray Cat. Too late! ) This one is white with black splotches.
Two weeks ago I divided one of my lotuses, and sold all but one scrawny tuber. It had a very short (maybe 1 1/2" tuber, and a long tuber about 6" long, and 1/2" in diameter. I planted it. Look what I found today! The first pad is now about 2 inches in diameter.
