Today was a busy day in the greenhouse. I finished sealing the gutters where the sections were overlapped and had not been sealed since the greenhouse was put up. Leaves sometimes build up in them or other trash, and that causes a back up of rain drainage. The result is water comes into the greenhouse, and in the winter, it is cold. Using plumbers putty, the gutters are now sealed!
I also divided some hardy lilies and potted them up and moved them into the greenhouse for early sales in states that have early springs. I also moved some pots into the big pond for the koi to hide around. No pads, so we shall see how they react to the pots being there.
While working in the gh, I also noticed how nice the duckweed looked. Great natural koi food!

I have been dividing hardy lilies for the past two days, and putting the pots in the gh to get them going faster. I have divided Laydekeri Lilacea, Sunrise, Hollandia, and a couple of others. Plan on dividing Mayla and Perry's Baby Red this week as well. Any suggestions as to your favorite hardy lily?

Thanks, but I really meant out of all hardy lilies, which one is your favorite, not of just those three. Those are just three of the ones I started with on dividing the hardy lilies.

I've always been partial to the pinks. Hubby never noticed colors but one afternoon, he asked, "What do you call that lily that looks like a sunset?" Yep, his favorite is Perry's Orange Sunset.

All the hardy lilies?! If I can't pick one out of three, what makes you think I can pick one out of all of them!

We had a terrible thunderstorm with lots of wind come through after 2 am this morning. The wind was howling at the weatherman said we had up to 100 mile an hour gusts. There was at least one tornado that set down not far from here, but there were other places that have yet to be determined if it was a tornado or straight winds. Either way, lots of damage in the area. Fortunately, I was not part of it. I was nervous all night about the gh plastic but it stayed on and did fine! Even the lotus cold frame held up pretty good. just had to pull part of it back over a few tubs. Thank goodness!
I did pot up some Mayla hardy lilies today, and put the pots in the greenhouse. I will try and do some Perry's Orange Sunset tomorrow. Come one spring! Go away storms!

Good to hear all is well over there. We are getting high wind gusts right now. No rain yet. Sounds like the roof is coming off the house.

Nancy, I hope all goes well there. It was a terribly dangerous storm when it came through here. We have had rain and high winds all day today, but it has not been thundering and lightening. The storm is not as severe, but the temps at three this morning were 67* and they are 37* now. It was 57* at 6 pm. Will go down to 29* tonight. I know those northwest of us have dropped much colder than we will, but I am ready for winter to be over! P.S. The wind is howling right now, 9 pm.

It's 10:30 pm here & it is 68 degrees outside. We are having high wind & some rain. No thunder or lightening here either. Our high is only 45 tomorrow but we will be back in the 50's next week. We are still under a tornado watch until 2 am.

They said storm lost some strength going across mountains into NC. Glad you not getting the strong storms we had. Hope you stay tornado free as well. Do you get much rain there?

No we are usually below in rainfall in our area. I just heard on our local weather that so far we have had 1/2 inch. It is just misting outside now. The tornado watch has been removed . Rain should end tonight at 3 am. We will still have wind gusts up to 36 mph. tomorrow.

It is 38* outside and the sun is shining! Just checked the gh and it is 80* in there! Still having small fires burning in wood stoves so will be ready to re-load for tonight when it is to get down to 15*. Will plant up some more hardy lilies this afternoon after work.

Thanks KIT BMX. I do not have that lily, but it is white with a pink blush. I do have some other white lilies. I have Hal Miller, Perry's Double White, Gonnere, Richardsonii, and White 1000 Petals. Actually, I just potted up the White 1000 petals yesterday. I was going to post it on this thread, but cannot find my pic of it. Still looking for it.

I have started two new Facebook pages for my plants. I will continue posting on here as to the activities in the gh and in the Pro Aquatic Plant Seller store, but anyone interested can go and "like" the pages. I would appreciate it. I will be posting ponding tips regularly there as well, plus have special deals on plants from time to time also posted there. There are two separate pages, so please, "like" them both. Become a friend also!
