      Yes. Welding oxygen is pure oxygen. The same oxygen is put in welding oxygen bottles that is put in medical oxygen bottles, the only difference is in the medical oxygen, they do a fill, purge, fill, to be sure that there are no contaminants in the bottle with the oxygen. An empty bottle, with an open valve will have air components in it plus potentially other contaminants, like odors, etc.

      Thanks Rich, I know when I was working on ships in the ballast tanks guys always wanted a hit off my bottle so I figured it was acceptable
