      Wakin/Watona--how much would you pay?

Checking to see if it would be worthwhile for me to find someone local willing to purchase my wakin/watonai & they handle the shipping. There must be enough profit for both of us to make it worth our time.

How much would you pay for them?
      Size?
How much would you pay for shipping costs?
What colors would you want? (orange/white, calico, orange, etc)
      Wakin or Watonai?

I have some babies that are approximately 1" in body size from this spring & others from last year that are approximately 3" in body size.

If you are looking for someone locally, why would there be shipping? A little confused. I would have to build another pond and that ain't gonna happen say's DH. Your fish are beautiful.

Someone local must first purchase the fish from me & then they make their profit plus ship the fish. I don't want to mess with shipping. There are several people on the local fish forum that do shipping & checking to see if there would be enough business for them to sell wakin & watonai.

ebay prices are running about 16 per fish..but people are picky and seem to want the red and white ones verses solid colors..Just like koi, people want to choose , with shipping your talking 50.00 for a fish.. it better say buy me im different, or it will stay at the dealer..Pet smart has large fancy gold fish for 25.00 each...not wakin but nice 6 inch runkin (sp)

I've paid $5-$25 for wakins and those were 1-2 years old at the time, colors pretty well set. Shipping would be harder than breeding, as you know, even though breeding is more expensive production-wise. Have you tried to sell them to just local people? Better might be to contact pond shops where you could ship them in lots perhaps, rather than by individual fish?

Maybe one of your local nurseries or pond dealers would let you set up a stock tank on commission?

I have lost so many goldfish too Herons and snakes its hard for me to pay much for them. As soon as I pick one I really like its gone. I had some really nice long finned shubunkins that were dark red with mostly blacks spots on them very little red and they were always thefirst togo I could barely see them but they must have been glow worms for the snakes and herons, my wakins are the same way they dont last long here.

I'm looking at some Raingarden Watonai at $40 to $50 with shipping at $ 60 for three fish. So that's what I'm willing to pay, I also have to pick them up in the US as I live in Canada. For those prices I want to see good pictures of individuals to pick from (Raingarden even has a video for each fish)
Blackwater Creek has calico wakins at $30 ea. with free shipping (!) but you are not able to select your own fish. So that is the dealbreaker for me, I guess. (plus I would rather have watonai)
