How to adhere flagstone on liner?

My pond has a raised wall with liner draped over. How to you adhere flagston to the wall? I don't know if mortar (or cement) will stick?

      Bump for help.

I'll be doing this soon as well. I've been told to trim the liner back and attach to the wall less than half way across the block. Mortar will not stick to the liner.

Here is a good way to adhere the rocks. https://www.koiphen.com/forums/showth...-here-are-pics For the full build see https://www.koiphen.com/forums/showth...ion-saga/page5, but don't pay too much attention to the parking places in that thread.

I trim anout 2/3rds of the liner away so the top edge is 1/3rd liner overlap and 2/3rds bare concrete or block. Then I use a 22 caliber nail gun with fender washers to nail lath to the concrete, oner the liner. The nails also go through the liner to hold it in place.
Then it's pretty easy to mortar or cement the flagstone in place.

If I was to do this I would epoxy stone 90's first and then mortar in place.

Could use concrete backer board to mortor the stones onto, with a number of ways to support this panel on the wall.

L brackets on backside of panel that would lip over the top edge of the wall.

Drill some holes through panel for some type of concrete anchor.

Some type of two part hidden bracket on backside of panel and on wall that would interlock together.

I was at home depot today, and found something that might be worth a try. Look in the roofing parts. There is Epdm adhesive for adhering Epdm roofing rubber to walls. It came in caulk tubes or in a gallon jug or 5 gallon bucket. There were a couple of brands there.
