      New pond, please help again

      PLEASE HELP AGAIN.

This is not a formal koi pond. This is a garden pond with koi fish.
After doing research for awhile. Here is my final plan for my pond. Please help me if this is going to work.
      Liner Pond = 2600 Gallon
12’x12’x2’ slope into 3’ deep (as seen in picture)

      3” BD
      55 gallon SC with Static
      Savio Skimmer
      Sequence 4200 Pump
      55 gallon birdman S/G Filter
Gravel bog plant filter (20% of pond surface area)

      added: Leaf/Strainer basket

Not bad, a big worry for me is the tree. With the canopy covering a portion of the pond, I think you may run into a root problem on the dig, and then again later on as the tree grows more.

I've already done with the digging parts (not bad with the roots). The tree is a japanse flower peech tree. it has been
there for 10 years and has grown to max. it has around 10' radius drip line but the problem is a complete falling leaf and flower in the fall and early spring for flower.

Yes, I am going to have some type of covered half of the pond. But I am still don't know what to use yet. Maby 2x 6' radius umbrellar.

With you'r pond goals ...pretty good plan.

I would put a leaf/strainer basket before the pump. Digging frog guts out of the impeller isn't fun. When you clean the skimmer basket, never know whats going to get suck into the plumbing.

Is this pond in the front yard? I am wondering why there is a sidewalk around the outside of the property.

I"m not sure where "sugar land" is exactly but would like to see you go a little deeper. I'm sure you expected someone to chime in with that reply.

You could use a shadesail instead of umbrellas.

I would use 2" pvc as the smallest diameter.

+1 Leaf/Strainer basket. I am totally forgot about this important little thing.
Do I need a valve between BD and SC line? If yes, can I install a valve inside a 55 gallon SC?

He's in SE Texas, the weather is super hot.

Do you expect much to settle with the pump you're going to use and the small barrel?

We already covered depth on his pond didn't we?

Yes you need a valve between the BD and SC. Yes you can put it in the SC however, if you ever decide to change your SC, (go larger etc) your screwed. I'd suggest outside the SC.

A 55 gallon SC with a pre-filter will work but that's all I can say for it. Your going to have to play with tweaking for draw down from the pump. Without pre-filter, negative.
