Tried to buy this in Canada and have had no luck. Phoned Loctite to see who the dealers were and they told me that this product wasn't recommended for underwater application...I asked them what they suggested and they had NO idea...I have used this in the past and liked it, and will definitely be buying more next time I am in the states!

try this: GE Marine 5200 adhesive/sealant. This stuff IS designed for underwater applications as it is used for sealing boats, all types of plastice, fiberglass, etc. The stuff WORKS!! It's all we use because of what Loctite told you.

Both 5200 and PL are fine around fish and epdm.

The 5200 will cost you a lot more and, for me, was impossible to find locally in black.
I've used both underwater and the both work great.

The 5200 marine sealant is incredible. I used it to seal around the 4 inch penetrations into 330 gallon totes and stand on the 4 inch pipes all of the time. It is some great stuff. I haven't found anywhere that it wont work great. But like icu2 said I've only seen it in white. Also it will not peel off like some other types of sealant.

I agree, 5200 is somewhat difficult to find in black locally, most of the time. But, as much stuff as we all order on line, is it that big a deal? I ran into the same problem and ended up using the white. After a couple months, it was covered with an algae coating and you don't even know it's there. So, is black really that important?

Personally, if my pond is a liner, or dyed black, and I can see one lone white "thing" at the bottom, like a piece of pvc or glue... it drives me freakin' nuts.

Now the rest of my yard? Not so much.
