I guess lots of food and more water will do good things.
I think I've gone through over 50lbs of food this season already.
Dude its not a myth . its actually gospel . those ***** may look good but will only asymptotically reach 20 inces and flirt with 21 for the rest of your life .

I've found that many Matsunosuke Sanke develop the same as yours is doing. I've had mine quite a while and she is still SKINNY. Skin quality is still amazing and seems to really be improving since I added the auto feeder this season. She's roughly 24-25" and if I didn't know any better, I'd swear she's a he!

On your Ogata Showa, the sumi is mostly on the beni (kasane sumi) and his a hard indicator to read sumi with. Still looks a tad dull/flat. I've never had a Hirasawa Kohaku, but have seen many and been to his place twice. Just not sure how the beni develops/changes over time. This one looks like the beni is definitely changing, but not for the better, sorry!

I agree on all points, except the Kohaku is from Hasegawa.

I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride. Hopefully, I'll learn something on the way

Sorry, can't keep the breeders straight! I've changed my previous post to reflect a correction! Thanks for pointing it out.

She was a beautiful gift from a dear friend. Or maybe it was a dear gift from a beautiful friend
Whatever the case may be - I'm very fortunate to be able to observe the development of it first hand.
As a variety, I don't know too much about Goromo...

      An Ode to Autumn

I love this season(except for the leaves ).

      Crystal clear water.
      Bright colors on the fish.
The pond walls have a nice layer of carpet algae.
      Tortuga is maturing nicely

You can kind of see the Asagi & Sanke (last set, 2nd pic). Its a shame too because that Asagi looks to have a crooked head.

I can get to mine during my water changes with the low volume and will need to. Of the dozen or so i am planning on re-homing a chunk of them soon. I am probably going to just stick with a Sanke and Showa that have outgrown all of the others.
