Had to remove palm due to Ganoderma butt rot fungus ;(

I recently noticed that one of my large Areca palms was dying. Then I found a conch growing at the base of the tree. The pic is from an AG site, not my tree. A little research revealed that it is a fungus that is wiping out stands of palms. I had the tree removed but am concerned that I will lose the rest of my palms...and I have many to lose. Is anyone else having this problem and has it spread to your other palms?

Yea, I thought the same thing. I have seen that type of growth on rotting wood. Which came first? The palm dying or the fungus after it died?

It's the fungus that kills the palm. But for sure, no one wants to have or see any Butt Rot.
