      Outdoor turtle pond.

Here is the outdoor turtle pond hubby made for our turtles. They have been outside for about a month. There were five but one magically disappeared. I have two little ones in the house, one was saved from the road and one I found in the skimmer of my smallest pond. I also have eight eggs in the house that I am trying to hatch. The outside turtles were being camera shy. They will come inside in the fall.

Love it! I wish I could have mine outside in the summer months. It is my GD's pet and I am afraid something may get her. She was farm raised.

I hope the turtles are safe outside I worry about them. But the dogs will run outside through the pet door if they hear anything out there. I still can't figure out how the one turtle escaped.

I had to redo my turtle pond a few times before I stopped losing turtles. They can be little Houdini's for sure

Years ago my DH brought home a baby box turtle that was in the road. Our girls were little then. They named him Tommy Turtle. We had his area fenced in & deep in the ground. The top was left open. One night he was taken out of it. Maybe by a hawk or raccoon or an owl. We were never sure what happened. That is why I am leaving my GD's YES turtle inside. Unless I could completely enclose it some how.

The top to our turtle enclosure is open. Hubby buried the fence a foot into the ground. To get out the turtle would have had to climb or fly.

That turtle may still be in the pen.I kept missing a painted turtle off and on for a few months. Then I saw him dig himself underground.A few days later he was back in the pond.Keep an eye out.

Nice turtle pond, its tough to get them to stay, where did you get the eggs? I've always been fascinated with scouting out nests and trying to hatch them myself.
