      Arizona Pond

I started to dig last year and had a Thread "Looking for Input on New Pond". I stopped working on the pond for a number of reasons, but am back at it and starting a new thread. The space I space I have to work with is very limited.

      The original look was going tobe 10 x 7 x 4 with an upper pond 10 x 2 x 2 total 2400 gallons.

      I am going deeper and higher above ground. 9 x 7 x 6 with an upper 9 x 2 x 2 total 3100 gallons.

I dug the entire pond out by hand and have about 50 hours in digging alone. Five trips to the dirt 101 total weight approx. 30,000 pounds.

Hope you get the pictures figured out! What part of AZ are you in? My Dad was from Tucson.

Good luck with your pond, looks like it's coming along nicely. Looking forward to the new pictures.

The upper pond will definitely need active bottom drains or it will become a settlement tank. How are you planning on managing it? The bottom drain should be 3" for a 55 gal pre-filter. You can't effectively run more than 1800 to 2000 gph through a 55 gal drum pre-filter.

Are you downsizing the photos?? And how many photos are you trying to upload at once?

You will have to open them up in Photoshop or something similiar. Downsize them a bit and they should upload to KP for you.

      I use Corel.

The green arrow means you have posted on the thread. If you hover over it, you get a message saying how long ago you posted and I think how many times.

I had an upflow matala system w/55gal barrel @3500 gallons for three years. It worked fair, but required pulling out the matala for weekly cleaning. Changed over to
2-55 gal Sand & Gravel barrels and the water sparkles. FYI
