Great, comprehensive coverage you two! As always, if you can't be there, join 'em through photos! Is there possibly somewhere in Tokyo that could repair your camera for you? I know the prices for cameras, etc there is quite a bit more than here. Sure hope you're able to get this worked out.

From the reflection in a lot of the pictures, it appears that they're using mixed banks of HO fluorescent lights as the main lighting. As someone that was judging, how well do you think this arrangement worked vs. relying on natural light? Any guesses on the mix?

      -t
The mix is 50/50 and it works very well. There are no issues with judging, in fact, the lighting is so good I have never given it a thought.

I am sure that there are many repair places here but, with INC on the horizon, I don't think, with it being Sunday, that repairs would be done soon enough. I am going to have to buy another camera.

Blame it on that nice new suit. The camera decided it wanted an upgrade.

The camera will not be getting an upgrade as it was very expensive.

Awesome pics, Russ! I love the Shiro's-I guess they probably go for what my home costs. What does INC mean?

Yes, those Shiro are quite expensive. I'll be posting more from the show soon. INC is Isawa Nishikigoi Center the home of Matsunosuke Koi in Isawa. BTW, I will be looking at their new Shiro Utsuri.

Alright, I got the camera situation under control. We went to an electronics center in Isawa and it was determined that the problem was not something that could be fixed quickly. The camera would not take pictures last night nor would it display them. It also had 379 pics held captive on the card. Today the camera allowed me to remove the pics from the card and it would allow me to take pictures but, it would not record the pictures on the card. So we bought a new camera. The other Nikon was 10 mega-pixels and this one, which is the latest edition of the same model, is now 12.3 mega-pixels so I am happy about that.

As always there are a lot of very nice Koi at the show. Kari and I spent some time going through the smaller Koi and there were some stunning fish. Normally I don't get to see all of them but we did this time. These are mostly 3" to 16".
This has to be one of the nicest Kujaku I have seen.

The smaller Koi tended to huddle together a bit more so it wasn't always easy to get a good picture of an individual Koi.
