When we went to the Hotel to look at the clean water system I took a few pictures. The gardens were stunning and they have tree guys that know what they are doing.

On the inside ofn the hotel they had quite a few displays as well. This one caught my eye. Miwa Sakai says that they believe if you have a bee hive, like these, attached to your house it will bring you good things.

When we got back to the farm we found Chumley patiently waiting for his fish dinner on a roof top.

What breeders will you visit in Ojiya Russ?

The first step towards getting somewhere, is to decide you are not going to stay where you are.

Can't see 1 very well, 3 has a bit red eye so between 1 vs 3 and I am leanning toward 3.

If you're picking a male here, is it as an Oyagoi, or just looking for a show quality male?

I'm going to assume we're looking for the fish most likely to win a young koi show.

The body on the first looks robust, the beni is very soft and uniform, the sumi is like an inky wax. I like the bold consolidated sumi placements. I'm not very attracted to the beni heavy hood and shoulder - with such nice shiroji you'd like to see more of it on the head.

The shiroji on the second looks pretty good and the beni is also very rich and soft. The sumi is possibly even darker, although a little less boldly consolidated. The pic makes it look like a VERY long, lean fish - but in a good way. Nice round nose.

The third fish is a real wild card. The shiroji is glistening and 'sharp' - like a titanium white paint. The beni is pushing into that cherry red range. I don't like how the beni looks like it's more variable across the fish - hard to tell if that's a trick of exposure or real. The Marusome kiwa looks like it should be in a breeding textbook. Seems like it could end up being a showstopper.

I think the third fish would win the show, because I keep finding things I like with it. I think the first fish would be a "safer" choice, although not as interesting.

I throw myself on the mercy of the court.

I'll add the perfunctory "all would be welcome in my pond." As if there's any doubt!

Thanks much for the pic. That was what I had in mind when I built my pond and its water fall, but back yard is too small and 5 feet side way did not help to get giant rock in. My next pond would be with that kind waterfall/giant rock (next house/pond when kids out of the house to college )

3 - The white is amazing.

That pond and grounds are gorgeous, beautiful place for a wedding. How deep is the pond?
