I,ve run into that as well. My pw is in full bloom but guickfire, limelight and pink diamond got pruned by the deer this year. They are down by the bottom of the driveway way out of sight of the house so I am going to move Pink Diamond up closer this fall. I got a new one called Great Star. Tiny little thing but they really grow quickly I haven,t found a spot for it yet.

Heads up on the Great Star its a fly magnet. They are constantly crawling all over it, yuck!

Japanese beetles LOVE hydrangeas. Lotus, too.
Its amazing how that hedge transformed that space.

I must find a place for these, so impressive! Lovely to see the photos of the hedge developing over the years. I bought one dwarf limelight from the Boy Scouts in June. It's blooming now, near the pond.

This is the dwarf that is in it's first season. Should max out at 2ftx2ft, so they say!
I love it more every year!
