One of our club members is a wood worker and i have him now working on buiulding a stand for my mountain stone. I'll post a picture when he's done. saturday after next our group goes out again into eastern washington state to a small stream bed that has some different and unique stones. hopefully I'll have something new to share from that trip. the attached picture is not the best of the biggest stone he is working on. Side showing looks like green forests, other side is totally black, so can be used to face each side front as needed. I've not weighted the stone but takes both hands to hold it. About 16-18 inches long and 10-12 inches high. The wood stand will be a dark walnut.
this sunday our group gets together for a social time and pci-nic and will choose stones for the upcoming display at weyerhauser bonsai in august. I'm hopeful the stand will be ready and my stone accepted as one of many to represent the group.
