Question kohaku red veins on white for a few days

I have a kohaku that is eating well and is active, but it has what looks like tiny red veins on it's white. Each side of the fish has horizontal hair thin red veins. I thought it was just a product of stress, but the kohaku female has had them for about three days.
There is no reason why it would be stressed. Disregard the misshaped pec fin. That is just a birth defect that the kohaku has always had.
I am attaching pictures. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks

grab the test kits and test the water. Lets rule out the water first. If anything is off, I'd start doing a water change.

Costia is kinda spider webbed red, my guess if its not the water is bacteria.

I am sure Cindy is more knowledgeable than I am about the subject but from my personal experience with a Kohaku of mine, she gets red veined like that when she is stressed.

She is my warning fish. If she gets stressed, as Cindy said, the first thing I do is check my water parameters.

However, lately she has been stressing and after first checking the water parameters and consulting with my mentor, I now believe it is the change in weather temps and therefore the change in water temps that is causing it. We, so far, have had a spring with really warm days, then several very cold days and back and forth. Could this be happening to you?

No. It has stayed warm for a few weeks. It has rained a few days in a row but not a lot. My sanke which has good quality white is not displaying the red veins. What would be a sign that it is getting worse? Just increased and darker veins? Thanks

Does anybody have any pictures of costia so I can compare pictures? A couple weeks ago this koi had a small scrape on the top of it's head probably from rubbing up against the rock shelf.(The rocks are smooth river rock) I've seen one or two small scrapes on other koi in the past. Those healed within a few days. The whiteness of the scrape has gone away, and now the spot is darker red than the beni around it. Costia pics appreciated

I had a very similar condition for a few weeks last year, it effected one kohaku and one sanke they both acted fine and ate normally. Both fish displayed bruising around the eyes and lips, looked like more stress indication more than anything. I boiled it down to adding water and not adding enough dichlorinator. They are fantastic this year! I hope your fish recovers if it hasnt already!
