Frog/turtle pond pics taken today. Turtley is loving the new digs, has frogs and a few tiny minnows from the lake in here. I've got to add more fencing around it tomorrow. Just have some rocks to keep him in the vicinity.
I just pulled the turtle dock out today as he doesn't use it in this pond. I've seen him basking on the real rocks. Funny too, cuz he LIVES on it when in the inside tank. We DO feed him in the pond and he comes to us to eat readily. He seems quite at home there and we're glad to give him the extra room to move about. I'm getting more fencing in the morning. So far, he's been content to hang around in and around the water.
. I am sure he is happy . walle is not in the koi pond either . she has a 400 gallon doggies pond which she shares with a chagoi a few goldies and assorted fish . She can go if she wants but she has not the last two years . My pet shop lady says it is cus she is domesticated . I think when she is ready to breed she may thing of wandering away . . I am trying to find a boy for her but they are not allowed to sell painted's in this state .

OMG that little deck and chair is sooo cute
Turtley is a Florida river cooter and I don't know what he/she is. The little dock was made by a friend of my son's for a birthday present to him, along with the little Adirondack chairs, which they bought. I thought it was a very clever b-day gift that his mother and her son made for Max when they heard we made a frog pond. That turtle climbed all the way to the top of the waterfall. I saw him swimming around in the strong current there and returned him to the pond. There is no filter here. Just a lot of water plants and I top off fresh water daily.
Here is an updated pic of my GD (7) and Lily Pad. She just got out of the shower so her hair is still alittle wet. She has enjoyed Lily Pad all summer. She stayed with me 4 days each week. She is back home now and started the second grade.....
My GD and Lily Pad both grew quite a bit over the summer.
The last pic you can see Lily Pad peeking over the side of her pond........
