Do you have a QT for the new arrival?
One bag of gold please and thanks!!!
What was the swing in water temps from your qt in the garage to your outside pond?
It looks like a mouse or rat. Look at the tail drag marks between tracks..
Why would a ph crash kill the bio bugs in the filter?
Make sure you put in a bypass around the stream back to the pond or it could super chill the water in Winter.
31 may win but I do not like the nose on that fish. I vote 8!!!!!
Yes, with the tancho spot going onto the shoulder, this fish might not be benched in the Tancho class at a koi show. Sorry, nice fish.
Nice herd! Good pics.
Without going into details or why, this koi is the one I picked from the other thread of three as the one I would like for myself.
I guess that those are shimmies on the head. Not a good sign.
What are your water tempatures? Unless you have a heated pond, this is the normal time for fasting koi.
Why do you want to use color enhancing food?
Carl and Vicki of Flat Rock Koi just returned from Japan. These are some of the fish that will be coming to their farm soon. The best Longfins I have ever seen! Gene
Very nice Longfin.
I think Longfin development is improving. Gene
This koi is from Suda. I am going to post several more.
I am not crazy about longfins but this one made my jaw drop!!!
I too would like to understand more about how to tell the difference between hard and soft beni. Here is a pic of a Toncho I have had for four years, which would make her at least 5 years old. She...
This is the only pic I have of her. Breeder is Myatoro. Other than her being here from Japan at the end of the month, I have no other info except I am interested in buying. Thanks for any and all...
Yep, on this one too.
Count me in.
If I had that kind of money to spend, I would go with Russ!
[I] would stop feeding now. This will help keep ammonia numbers down if the power does go out.
Wish I lived closer!
Do your koi graze on this algae? This sounds like carpet algae which is normal in a pond and is good for the fish.
I am not sure how cold it gets there in the Winter but you may need to by-pass the falls with a return to the pond to keep the water from getting to cold.
If only large scale fish are dying, the small fish should be fine!
Are fish with small scales dying too???
I do not believe a PP dose at that rate will help. The best way would be to scrape and scope in a few weeks.
In a koi show, the Ginrin fish are judged only on the Ginrin first. If the koi does not have good Ginrin, the pattern dose not matter much. This fish seems to have Pearl Ginrin but from the vedio it...
Here is a pic of Pearl Ginrin on an Ochiba and probably Diamond on the Kohaku.
There are people on this site who can answer that question but I am not one of them.
The major group of koi; gosanke; include Kohaku, Sanke and Showa are in class A-Ginrin. All other varieties are in class B.
While on vacation three weeks ago, six of my large females spawned. The person looking after my pond said he tossed out five gallons of eggs. He did put one scoop in mt Q tank, which I keep going all...
I picture would help.
I noticed that you have two fish you want judged. This thread is supposed to be used by people wanting to know how how their fish compare to Koi show judging standards. Is this what you want or do...
I took my pump apart last year after the flow from the pump seemed slower than normal. There was a crud build up in the housing around the impeller which was impeding the water flow. After cleaning...
Do crawfish get lice? If crawfish get lice also, you will reintroduce the lice into your pond after the demilin treatments along with the crawfish.
You do know don't you that a Toncho is a Kohaku if it is solid white with the only red being the circle on it's head.
