That is a good start of your built.
That sure is looking good.
Looking good. Nice to see them coming out of the mud.
I think we all would love an update on this topic... At least i would. :)
YES. Water. Way to go. Very nicely done Cheryl. Almost time for the first Koi.
Russell, i find it a bit strange that you describe medication even if you don't know what it is. That to me sounds very very strange. Only use medication when you know what it is. That is what i...
Well done. Looks like you will be done with this one before winter sets in.
I see a next project coming up here on Koiphen. :) :) :)
Pond temperature is 24 Celcius. That is 75.2 Fahrenheit. I expect it to go up more the coming weeks.
Sorry to say but you are all guessing. The only thing you can do is get a koidoc in. He/she should be checking on bacteria and KHV(pcr/elisa). That is the only way. Specially because so many koi...
What I noticed quite a few times is that when gill plate keeps shut, the koi suffers from gill flukes. Checking that would be a good thing.
Looking good Cheryl. Very clean work.... I would not be able to work as you do. My place would be a mess.
Looking good. Will keep on following this thread to see how they will develop and what will they become.
You really have an amazing place. What a view from your house. It must be a pleasure living there. You are right about removing the trees. They can keep your house warm during colder...
Why not use sandwich panels? Using these will speed up the built and isolate as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich_panel
What do you feed them if I may ask? I used artemia for the fry.
IF there is some sumi in the mouth it is a Showa else a Sanke.
If done very carefully you can stitch the tear on the fin. I have done that a few times and it heals quickly.
Hi, I would keep these as 2 separate systems. If by chance you don't have any fry in the fry pond and there is something wrong with a koi in your main pond you can use the fry pond as a quarantine...
Looking good. I specially love the skinquality of the Sanke. The shiroji is very very white.
Really looking good.
Here a PM as well. And people think I am stupid enough to click on the link provided..... He can guess again. :)
Very nice built.Really love looking at it. Wish I had the space to build a tank like that.
I question. You mentioned that you wanted to save energy what I can understand completely but why not go...
Very nice pond indeed.
Temp is still 50 Fahrenheit here.
Here the pond temp is 10Celcius. (sorry don't know what is it in Fahrenheit.)
I was wondering if people were covering their pond for the wintertime and how you do that. For myself I do cover the pond. it is a simply way but effective. The water temperature does not...
I understand why you use these as your oyagoi. Really love seeing them. What size are these approx.?
Cheryl, I admire you patience in this. I would have gone mad in this pace.... Keep up the good work. Will keep on following this topic. :)
They are looking good. Really want to see how they will develop. Keep it up.
I really love how the koi look like now. You sure are getting where you want to be with the Ki-Shusui. Keep it up.
Looking good and will certainly will prevent the room to cooldown quickly.
Congratulations on your babygirl.
I love watching the progress on this built. In 2 months it will already be a lot colder in Poland.
Looking good Haab. I recon you have enough wood to heat your house during the whole winter. Keep the pics coming. I love looking to see you progress.
Nice and warm. Same here in Netherlands.
I would love to see that place for real... simply beautifull.
That is a lot of work you have done, but also a lot to do more if i see it correctly. Keep up the good work. :)
I used the Minfin once. You really need to be carefull in using it as with just a little overdose you can already kill your koi. But it did help.
Just a little misleading title. hahahahaha
If i am correct the Jumbo Champion is 114cm. It really is a huge Chagoi.
Hi. It should be public now.
Here the Jumbo Champion of the Shinkokai 2014 and the Sanke that was talked about on the video of Patrick. The Sanke is 94cm.
WOW. Just read this whole thread. That i missed this one..... A very good looking pond and garden. Very impressive built.
the ZNA America Chapter now also has a page on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/#!/ZNANorthAmericaDistrict
I really like this one. Do you have a time table on when this has to be finished?
I have 2 koi that are 16 years old. They are real muts but were my first koi. So they will die in my pond and not be given away.
HI Cheryl, Haven't been here for a while. The progress you make is not fast but i must say the quality of the work you do is excellent. And thumbs up for your patience.
Condolences to Henks family. He was a fellow Dutchman on this forum. We had some chats on his pond.
