No I don't.
I'm kind of late here so all I can do is agree with all the suggestions. I like 6 feet deep my self.
I have two molds for my Fiberglass shower trays, 30" and 48". My fiberglass shop went out of buisness so I can no longer make shower trays. I have $6000 invested in these two molds. They are to...
Thank you all for your nice thoughts. It's people like you that make it all worth while for me.
We're looking forward to it also.
Thank you Jeff, I really appreciate your comments. Made my day.
For your size pond you can easily do it with one Aqua Forte 111 sieve. Run both BDs teed together to one inlet, the skimmer to the other inlet, then one pump to the TPRs and Bog.
By the way I am...
Skimmer selection should be based on the type of construction and leaf load. If you are going to have a large leaf load you can't beat the large Savio Skimmers with their large ridged leaf basket' ...
Ya, he didn't know how his wife goy pregnant like he didn't know how the truck got in the pond.
I just read on Facebook he just passed away. How sad. Found memories of his pond escapades, like the truck rolling into his pond.
Anyone know what happened?
Water will come out the air blower stand pipe when the filter need flushing. Just remove the air blower and cap the stand pipe when not flushing.
Those are really not the best way to go. They have to be pressure/pump fed, can not be gravity fed, and talk high hp pumps to run them. Most people use 2" gravity flow TPRs to keep operating costs...
I agree with Mike. A lot of your pieces are not matched, flow wise, and not enough for a pond your size..
I would not use the savio skimmer but instead use two of the in wall wade mouth waterway...
Each piece is over lapped 50% or 4 feet. The hole for the ring is bigger than the ring. Once it's all screwed together it can be moved and shaped. I use stales screwed to the outside to level it.
Two BD's and two skimmers on a 3000 gallon pond sounds like overkill.
My choice would be to gravity flow them to a Aqua Forte 111 sieve.
Yes, you must use a liner. 1/4" plywood is some what bendable, I screw three layers together to end up with 3/4 inch. The whole ring can be raised to lowered to set the level of the pond. Then the...
I would try to make the sides steeper. I would pull the liner, dig the sides steeper, put a plywood ring out of 3 layers of 1/4" plywood around the pond, kind of like this picture. Make the plywood...
I would run a new line.
I was going to offer you mine but you got one.
I was going to suggest the clogged impeller but Mike beat me to it. Glad you were able to fix your problems.
Glad I could help Kurt.
Advantage does not sell retail, only through dealers like me. So you won't find much info about them on the internet.
Really nice Dan.
The plastic ring that broke is what's called a wear ring. It is designed to wear out instead of the impeller wearing out if run caveated.
Yes the vanes in the impeller have a small opening but...
Why not go with a river flow design. All water flowing from a shallow end to a deep end. If you do this you can get away with one 4" BD and one skimmer, both tee-ed together flowing to a Cetus...
Get a street 90 and put it in your waste outlet when flushing. This will raise the water level in the barrel and stop from losing sand, but you might also splash some water out. Loosing sand from...
I think they are. My favorite media is feather rock and as long as the flow is high enough they are pretty much self cleaning. No maintenance required.
Yes, a skimmer is a must. This pond is
two BDs to two Cetus Sieves, two ES 8500 pumps, and 4 tray 4 foot feather rock shower to waterfall.
Skimmer to ES 8500 to EVO 55 watt UV to three S/G filters...
Ever price a 8" test plug? Way more than I can afford. I needed to plug my skimmer line, takes a 8" plug, so-
Off to Wall mart to buy a inflatable play ground ball for $1.74. Let the air out, put...
three S/G filters on a 7 foot deep 6700 gallon pond. The koi clay was introduced to show TPR flow in this picture.
Like Rich said, Tee them together.
Looking good Dan.
These were not done "After the fact" but this form method could be done this way. I use 6" bender board with concrete form ties and wedges. Then 2 rows of #3 rebar in the forms.
Kurt, sorry this hasn't worked out for you. How often do you flush your filter? I have seen many ponds built this way and the pond owners haven't had any problems. When I was retailing fish my for...
I can't comment on the Cermedia as I have never used it but I have found feather rock also gave me lower nitrate levels than other media I did use. The possible de-gassing of a shower has been...
Boy am I slow, only a day and all the good answers have already been used.
I would think there would be plenty of room for a 4" bulkhead in the bottom of the large Savio Skimmer.
When bedding your skimmer with concrete, pour a base under the skimmer for it to sit on, but...
I can help you, pm me or give me a call. 541-408-3317
Agreeing with Mike I would go with the ESS 7800.
The Medo's are a piston pump that runs super quiet and will probably never need to be rebuilt.
I like separate air pumps for the BDs and Fluid Bed's. You never want to turn the air off to...
If going with a raised pond I like 3 blocks high, 24". It's a good sitting height and high enough to not be a tripping hazard. Split face block works good for the raised part, not to expensive and...
Looking good Jeff.
You shouldn't need a teflon tape on the pump unions. Some times they can be a bit hard to get tight so a little cooking oil on the threads will help.
How much air is in the priming pot. A bit of...
If this is going to be a ground level pond, not raised, the color will work just fine. Here's an example of a color pond I did.
If your going with the Aqua Forte 111 sieve this is what I would do.
One 4" BD feeding one inlet of the sieve
One 4" skimmer feeding the other inlet of the sieve.
One pump, size depends on what...
