Were there any modifications made to the unit?
Thank you, I did understand this, but I think my 'mistake' was that I should have posted 'kill' in my statement.

Don't pick on me, I am just the messenger.
Yes, I have heard of this approach before, the idea is that you kill the virus by taking the water to 87 degrees and all you are left with is antibodies.
Nitrites are the easiest to deal with, just keep your salt level at, or above, 0.1% and it will protect the Koi. Just do not add any formaldehyde based meds while there is salt in the pond.

It sounds like there is something wrong with your well water.
This really doesn't show anything. You should treat for BGD.
I still would not consider KHV. It is highly over rated. It is time to get some BGDX and start the dips. KHV, as a virus, can be killed off at high temps (higher than her pond temps) and BGD spreads...
At the temps her pond is running I would not include KHV on the short list. She only lost 3 out of 45 Koi. I do think she will probably lose more though because others probably have BGD as well. Over...
Dealers don't usually call a female fish a male when they can sell it for more as a female.
I thought it was leaving your pond anyway. Try milting it.
Maybe you should try to milt it. Smooth gill plates don't mean much.
Here is a female vent.
Like I said, are you 100% sure. Here is a male vent and it looks a lot like yours.
Excellent choice, I really like the skin tone and Beni from that line. Here is a sister fish I found in October.
Are you 100% sure...
Yes, and when they start getting it they do slow down and isolate. When it gets more advanced they will 'gasp' for air and sometimes float in the pond with their heads down. It can take some time...
Looks like a 'poop chute'
Looks like Bacterial Gill Disease which would explain why you fish would gasp and then die. The gill tissue is being destroyed and they are suffocating. You can do BGDX dips for this.
Yes, me too, it was getting to the point where it could have been too hot to ship.
Good, I am glad he can come over to help. It makes it easier to have some one with experience.
I do think it is bacterial and there are several ways of dealing with this but I realize I have access to meds that most don't. What I have done with this is to bring the salt levels up to .6% and...
Omosako Nisai Shiro's.
Omosako Sansai Shiro's. One is going to Portland, one is going to Chicago and the other is staying in the Bay Area.
Taniguchi Sansai Kohaku going to Portland. BTW, this was purchased as a Tosai and grown out for two years by Taniguchi. This can be a great way to get a larger Koi for a better price. There are risks...
These are the Uedera Tosai.
I took some pics of the new arrivals but, when I discovered the broken pec on the Matsue Kohaku, I put all of the Matsue Kohaku in the tank without thinking about. I was a little frustrated and just...
It has been a frustrating couple of months trying to get the shipment of Koi in from Hiroshima. When I first came back I filled out the proper paperwork for the shipment from Hiroshima and tried to...
You can buy anything you want and stick it in your Koi or you can work on fixing the problem. I just think it's better to know what you are doing and what you are doing it with.
I think all you said was it was the same as Baytril 10%
I don't see where you said it is 10% Enrofloxacin
This does not look like a legitimate, legal business.

I did a search on the physical address of the parent company CuMed and it is a single family residence in Spokane. There is something wrong with this.

No, what you posted a link to is 10% Pigeon / Bird formula that only has 5% Enrofloxacin so what is the dose rate. Are you dosing based on the 10% or 5%. People don't know these things. If you take...
The vast majority of issues with fish are caused by a pond that has issues, poor design, low turnover rate etc, or the management of water quality is just not there. So many times I hear that 'my...
I agree 100% and this post should be a sticky.
12" female - $300.00
11.5" female - $300.00
Yeah, that is what I thought, it is not high temps killing off your algae.
11.5" - $300.00
12" - $300.00
13.5" female - $450.00
So, would your water temps then be in the mid to high 60's or low 70's?
