I've used the Krylon Fusion as well and had the same experience.
If you spray them in place and don't need to touch them it holds well but abrasion or water pressure will remove it.
You can check them any time. Their values aren't affected by anything else to my knowledge.
You should also check the values of your source water as this will dictate a course of action with your...
If your pond is not adequately buffered, anything that further depletes the KH/alkalinity will affect the pH.
This can be water changes, rain, filter cleanings, heavier feedings, additional fish...
They're gorgeous! The Omosako Shiro are Dainichi line, right?
So tempting to pick up a couple more now.
Most do but not all. Shusui is a Doitsu Asagi but is known as Shusui.
Here's an older thread that talks about Kikusui which are patterned like a Kohaku or Doitsui Kohaku but because they have...
Just because a koi has more sumi doesn't make it a Showa, what you are looking at is the quality of the sumi and the placement. This is a Sanke.
In general, Sanke sumi is superior to Showa sumi. This is most evident in higher quality koi. The line gets blurred quite a bit in lower grades.
Sanke sumi presents in a different way than Showa...
And no pics? :faint:
C'mon folks, gotta give us something. :D:
The tri-colored one is a Heisei Nishikigoi. The red/orange and black one is a Hi Utsuri. The one with the orange head is Kujaku.
The last one has me a little flummoxed. Kikusui is my first guess. It...
I kind of gathered as much by the post. I'm not going to judge, it's your property and you have to maintain and care for things.
While it's not what most of us would do, ultimately it's your call.
If you like feeding the raccoon then I wouldn't worry about treating the wound.
If you want to treat the fish and protect it then I would do as RTB suggested. Remove the fish, sedate it, swab it...
Mine can't be the only suggestion out there. :D:
Hmm, that is a conundrum.
What if you did say 3 zip ties around the air tubing and attached those to the dome with something like stainless cotter pins?
I'd definitely go with...
I don't like to handle fish that have been fed. I heard that when I started out in the hobby. First, they excrete more ammonia if heavier fed and second, it's just harder on their systems to be...
Wow, some beauties in there, Stacy. That is quite a collection to receive.
Russ did very right by ya. :wtg:
I hope so too, you've been missed.
Good to hear from you and see ya here! :jive:
They are looking great, Todd.
I don't remember that Doitsu Hariwake, lovely coloring.
I know the Japanese often use oyster shell in their filtration systems. As I understand it, their pH level stays fairly close to the level required for the system to utilize the alkalinity in the...
Okay, a concern here is how 8oz. or 1 cup of baking soda achieved such a drastic change in the KH level.
Doing reverse calculations, it appears your pond volume is radically less than what you...
