I like the goldfish pond waterfall feature.
Very sorry to hear!
Cool, thanks guys, maybe it was just the cold then. I wasn't prepared for the spawn, so I didn't even have the water ready which means I had to fill up the tank with hose water which would have been...
I did not. I was under the impression it happened before the hatch.
So, as some of you may remember, I had a flock spawn last fall and have a few babies that actually hatched. I think for a couple of reasons, I lost the majority of them.
The first and most likely...
Dirt just up to the top of the pallets? I would be very interested to see this completed.
Anyone want to try this again? I can't volunteer to head it up, but would be interested in seeing if someone could put it together for us. :praying:
I'll buy...how much?
Seriously though, I like it! It's a tropical/hardy cross?
I think with enough beds and plants in those beds you could completely filter the water with the beds. I've found with my experience that I still have to do water changes and I've even considered...
Looks like you could use some more breeding pools! :D:
Beautiful Africans and Discus!
Sorry to hear...I'd gladly give you some fish if I were close enough!
Couldn't get a good shot of the Acei, but here's a few of the others.
I have ended up going towards Malawis now. I had two pairs of Julie's and 3 of the 4 died on me. I'm not sure what happened. I now have Albino Zebras, Yellow Labs, Acei and a single Cobalt Blue...
Does anyone have development photos of Hariwake, Showa, doitsu and standard Sanke, and Ogon?
Do you have any pictures? Unfortunately I can't help with your question, but I have often wondered about them and didn't think they'd make the winters here.
Any updates on these fry?
Lots of factors play into that. First, number of fish, second, size of pond, third, filtration setup, fourth, frequency of water changes, fifth, water temps, sixth, length of growing season. I'm sure...
I would agree they are all "pond fish" except the slightly better Kohaku. What genes would you say the others have? I know they aren't great examples by any means, but I'm trying to help a newby...
1. doitsu showa
4. doitsu aka matsuba
5. gin rin kohaku
6. aka bekko
These are my best guesses. They will be good ones to learn with. You'll find very quickly...

A few update photos. Some of the hi is finally starting to form. I think I have some Showa and Sanke in there, possibly a couple Ogons a Kohaku and a few Doitsu Sanke possibly (hopefully) and one...
The bluegill would probably do fine in there, but you may want hybrids. Bluegill breed fast and will fill your pond quickly with lots and lots more than what you have. I would also be concerned about...
Yes sir! Count me in!
Ogon for sure. Metallic sheen makes it ogon. Beautiful fish!
I lost my "sentimental" fish. It was a very small butterfly, certainly stunted due to lack of water changes in my early days.
Found a few more in the outdoor tank. I had 16, lost one though, so I'm down to 15. Should be fun this winter!
NICE!!! I want one of them Showas!
Anyone know when I will start seeing Hi come through the sumi on the Sanke fry, both the scaled and doitsu?
I know, but the wife would probably throw a fit if I removed it.
Sorry the photos aren't that great!
Got a few photos, including one of the doitsus I was curious about.
