[*]size and stocking density of your pond - 20,000 gallons, 40 koi
[*]the type of filtration you have - biofalls w/ 2 submersible pumps and matala filters and ultima 20,000 bead filter w/ UV
[*]your maintenance routine - weekly 10-20% water changes, cleaning filters, no regular additives or chemicals. Early Spring had anchor worm - used Dimilin X, used Prazi as parasite preventative also.
[*]the last time you performed maintenance - couple of days ago
[*]They also need to know your water parameters, including the temperature - no ammonia present, pH low (always low for 10 years now)..all readings acceptable levels. temp 81 degrees F
[*]The last time you added a new fish - 2 weeks ago (not one of the fish in question, came from a quarantined facility)

OK........so... Purchased this little Ochiba about 5 weeks ago. He was quarantined. Fish is approx 5 inches. Ate well, acted great, very active. Three-four days ago, noticed he was hanging out near the falls - thought he just liked it b/c I have some that just like the current.

Yesterday saw him swim away from the falls and he was moseying, not swimming. Very sloooowly swimming....staying upright but definitely not ok. I easily scooped him out (enough said on his condition that I easily caught him in a pond this size :D:). Put him in quarantine tank w/ salt and heavy aeration.

When I first put him in (yesterday), he was kind of rolling around....upside down, upright, sideways...slooooowly kind of swimming. After about an hour, he righted himself and looked much better. Absolutely NO signs of any kind of physical trauma, no streaking, no scale issues, no weird eyes...perfect. Only thing notable was his breathing. It was irregular: breathe...breathe...breathe....breathebreathe..... breathe...breathe..breathe...breathebreathe. Always a "two fer" in there every few breaths.

This morning he was about the same...still looked ok but not great...same breathing. Left for three hours to an appointment and came home. Dead.

Checked the gills...perfect and pink. I'm stumped.

Ideas? Here is video of breathing:
We have a 120 gallon tank and I bought a 118 ml bottle which will treat the aquarium twice. My question would be do we need to treat more than twice? How long do we have to wait to add the second dose? How long do we wait to see if it has helped with the fungus before treating them again? Will the methylene blue dye our fish? I do have the light off. also how long do I wait to put the carbon filter back in and do a water exchange?

So with that.....Sally I believe is all coming clear why she maybe be singled out.
First I think her lump is cancer and here why I believe that. She has been becoming more "full" on her left side and now it seems to be defining itself as a lump. I have taking a few pics this morning to let you have a look at her conformation. I'm I seeing things?
Could this be why she is having all the issues over the others? Is her immunity depressing due to cancer?

I had to move my fish to a temporary Intex pool ... they have been listless at the top of the water for several hours and just found the biggest one on its side. I rushed it over to the pond and my daughter is holding it at where the waterfall enters the pond.

Should I try to put the other fish back in the pond? Why is this happening?

Yesterday evening I put the 4 goldfish (test fish) in the pool, and all seemed fine this morning so we moved the 7 koi in. Fish range in size from 4- 12 inches. Ammonia reading of 0.25 this afternoon so I added Amquel. (6 2/3 tablespoons).

The koi are all aimlessly on top; goldfish on bottom. Koi not sticking together as a herd. They are *not* hanging out near the air bubblers - just aimlessly wandering slowly.

Help!! Please!!
It does not look like the start of an ulcur from my limited experience. The plan of attack is to teat the whole pond with Proform C and pull her and give her a tricide neo spray. (i do not have the ability to scope)

QUESTIONS:
1- is this a suitable plan of attack?
2-will the proform C damage my filters/plants/frogs?
3- If I am making a tricide neo spray, should it be more concentrated than a dip? one packette to one gallon.

Here are the specs-
Amonia)0 -.025
Nitite) 0
Nitrate) 0
PH: 7.8 -8
KH) 80
3K GAL,
One tosai, 2 nisai
water turnover is 1-1.5/hour
For those who would like to print out this thread, the complete text is in the attached PDF file.
